Alaska

A couple of years ago, a great friend of mine, named Marshall, invited me to go to Alaska with him to attend the Temple in Anchorage. I was excited to go, so we took off for a week, flew to Anchorage, rented a car, and drove 2000 miles across Alaska, looking at moose, bear, glaciers, and the aurora borealis. We even had breakfast at the northern most Denny's in the world! What a great trip! We went to the Temple in Anchorage and ate Moose with a family that had a son serving his mission in our Ward in San Diego. We even attended the Priesthood Session of General Conference in the Homer, Alaska ward building .

Here's a picture of me standing on an Alaskan glacier!

And here I am at the Anchorage, Alaska Temple.

Some other highlights from our Alaska trip include

A glacier tour and a flight to the top of Mt. McKinley!

That's my friend Marshall in the air plane.  He is the one that got me started on going to all the Temples.  He has been in all the U.S. Temples and all the Canadian ones as well!  A few years ago Marshall started losing his hearing.  He wanted to be a Temple worker, but wasn't able to do it because of the soft voices used in the Temple.  So, he decided to be a Temple patron as often as possible and to go to as many Temples as possible too.  So, when ever a new Temple opens, he is there!  He is amazing!

And, oh by the way, on our way home from Alaska, we had a 4 hour lay-over in Seattle, Washington, so we rented a car, drove to the Seattle Washington Temple, and did some confirmations in the Baptistry, hurried back to the airport, returned the car and continued or way back to San Diego.
